URI SNAP Outreach Clinic

Living Well Rhode Island: Tools for Healthy Living
Thursdays, Feb. 27 through April 2, 9-11:30 a.m.This free program is for those individuals who simply want to improve their quality of life. It provides self-management tools anyone can use to make a positive difference in their lives. Participants receive a workbook and a relaxation CD. Upon successfully completing the program participants will receive a gift certificate. Registration is necessary. Call 780-6000.
Support Groups
The Cranston Department of Senior Services offers several support groups to help you and your loved one deal with conditions such as diabetes, visual impairment and caregiving. Diabetes Support Group meets the first Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m.; Insight Support Group meets the first Friday of the month at 10:30 a.m.; Memory Café meets the second Friday of the month at 10 a.m.; and the Caregivers Support Group meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 1:15 p.m. For more information, call 780-6254.
Caregiver volunteers needed
Volunteers are being sought to provide respite services for homebound seniors. Services include providing companionship, running errands and providing transportation to medical appointments.
If you are interested in becoming an RSVP caregiver volunteer, contact Karen at 780-6159 for an interview. Volunteers must be 55 years of age or older and a BCI check is required. A mileage reimbursement is provided to cover the cost to travel.
