With October being the month of Breast Cancer Awareness, Ironclad Fitness Center hosted a community workout and fundraiser for a local cancer survivor, Rebecca Watson, and to honor the passing of another local, Giana Gray, by making a donation in her name to the Gloria Gemma Cancer Foundation. Funds were raised through the sale of event t-shirts, a 50/50 raffle, workout donations and a gofund.me page (https://gofund.me/553c15ae).
While the event may be over, the gofund.me page is still open and accepting donations from those who are willing to raise awareness and give to a good cause.
The event was also sponsored by a variety of local organizations, including Ocean State CrossFit. Latte Love coffee house, Ceviches by DiVino, Salon Panache, Anthony’s Coal-fired Pizza, Pretty Little Gypsy, Constantly Varied Gear and PJ’s pub. (Herald photos by Steve Popiel
