More than 600 Rhode Islanders filled Rhodes on the Pawtuxet for a night celebrating fighters in fabulous outfits. Glimmer of Hope Foundation’s Runway for a Cure event saw 25 adult and 25 children, all survivors of or currently fighting cancer, strutting their stuff on the runway. Proceeds benefited the foundation, which provides comfort and support to children fighting cancer, and their families. With that funding, the foundation provides American Girl Dolls, empowering photoshoots, and bereavement boxes to families facing childhood cancer. The child models were accompanied by local “celebrities” such as Miss Rhode Island Caroline Parente, Cranston’s Ed Brady, and mayor of Warwick Frank Piccozi. 100% of proceeds went to benefit the non-profit organization.
