On Jan. 9, the Cranston Police Department participated in the National Blue Blood Drive, which helps save lives in honor of the men and women who serve in law enforcement. Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) has partnered with the American Red Cross and community blood centers across the country to donate blood during the month of January in honor of law enforcement. The drive was held on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Each donor received a $5 gift card to Dunkin Donuts. To participate, donate to the Rhode Island Blood Center under sponsor code 3896. For more information, contact the center at 800-283-8385. (Herald photos by Steve Popiel)
