On Jan. 21, Cranston Police Capt. Vincent McAteer received the Rhode Island Police Chiefs’ Association Community Policing Award for 2019. McAteer was nominated for this award by Chief of Police Col. Michael Winquist as a result of his exemplary work over the past several years as the officer in charge of the Office of the Community Outreach. Since 2014, McAteer has implemented multiple initiatives that have strengthened the relationship between the Police Department and the citizens of Cranston.
