HEADING HOME: Troy, a 7-month-old mutt, met his new owners just in time for Valentine’s Day at L.L. Bean this past Sunday. He has been renamed Duke. His new family, the Pretes, include 13-year-old Kyle and his parents, Frank and Renee.

This past weekend, many people turned out at Garden City Center for a Valentine Adoption event at L.L. Bean to see the pets available for adoption through Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. of RI and Anchor Paws Rescue. Two lucky dogs, Troy (renamed Duke) and Chewy, left with their news owners for their forever home. Many applications were filled out for future adoptions.

Over at Pet Supplies Plus, there was a Love Your Pet Party to treat pets to a day out at the store. Attendees were able to pamper their pets with a wide variety of treats, toys and apparel. Activities included Paw Print Stamping Activity.
