Hope Highlands Middle School’s Project Respect student team recently ran a Warm Wishes campaign to benefit Crossroads Rhode Island, a homeless service organization.
The team of students was seeking donations of cold-weather gear such as hats, gloves, scarves, mittens and blankets. At final count, there were 135 items donated by the student body and school community.
According to Reeny Puglia and Maria Conte, faculty coordinators of Project Respect, the campaign was a huge success.
“As coordinators of Hope Highland’s Project Respect, we are so proud of our student's efforts to support our school and community,” they said. “The Warm Wishes campaign was a huge success and all the new hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets that were donated went to Crossroads RI. Project Respect leads school-wide activities to promote kindness, acceptance and respect.”
