PROPOSED ORD. 11-23-02 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 5 – BUSINESS LICENSES AND REGULATION, CHAPTER 16 OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON CODE OF ORDINANCES,2005, ENTITLED ‘AMUSEMENT MACHINES AND POOL TABLES’
It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 16, Section 020 is hereby amended by adding the following:

For the purpose of this section, the following definition of pool and billiard table, etc., shall apply:
“Pool and billiard table, etc.” means any machine or device, including a pool table, billiard table, mechanical pool table, bumper pool table, or any table of a similar character, designed for use as a game, entertainment, amusement or patronage of the public, and which may be operated by the public generally upon the insertion of a coin, slug, token, plate, disc or any other means of paying a fee for its use.
A. No person, partnership or corporation shall engage in the keeping in the city of any pool and billiard table, etc., as defined in this section, unless each such pool and billiard table, etc., shall be duly licensed by the safety services and licenses committee of the city council.
The fee for said license shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00) annually. for each paid pool and billiard table, etc.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
