The one place that is sure to celebrate both St. Patrick’s Day and St. Joseph’s Day is the Cranston Senior Center on Cranston St. From Friday to Monday, the lunchroom was transformed first into green for St. Patrick’s and then to red for St. Joseph’s, as hundreds of senior citizens gathered for lunch with traditional holiday flair, with many clad in green or red clothes for the occasion.
In total there were 100 luncheons served on St. Patrick’s Day and approximately 125 meals on St. Joseph’s Day.
Music was also provided at both luncheons as well as traditional fare for each holiday. Sing-a-longs were encouraged in the audience.
Bud Pistachio performed for St. Patrick’s Day and Mike DiNardo performed on St. Joseph’s Day.
