Students get a kick out of lesson in self-defense

Participants at Bochner's Realistic Self-Defense attended a 90-minute self-defense seminar on March 24 that taught them the basics of self-defense and how to use it in a real altercation.

Seminar participants learned how to avoid altercations using their intuition and maintaining awareness of their surroundings.

Each student was then taught the basic punches and kicks that would help them defend against chokes and grabs.

Bochner's Realistic Self-Defense Training and Fitness Center is located at 855 Dyer Ave. and is owned by Sensei Marc Bochner.

Sensei Marc Bochner has more than 20 years of martial arts experience and is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. He has also authored three self-defense books and instructs in a set of self-defense DVDs.
