A suspect is being sought in an armed robbery Monday night at the Subway restaurant at 1009 Narragansett Boulevard.
According to police, the robbery occurred at approximately 9 p.m. The suspect – described as a black male with a slim build, standing between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and wearing a winter hat, mask, blue jeans, dark jacket and dark backpack – reportedly entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun and forced a clerk to hand over an unspecified amount of cash from the register.
The suspect is said to have fled on foot, heading westbound on Montgomery Avenue. Cranston, Providence and state police were unable to locate the suspect following a search of the area.
