On 6/27/2023 at 0903 hours Detectives arrested Derek J. Leber, 37, of 20 Newman Ave. apt. #11415, East Providence R.I. for B&E Dwelling House w/o consent and receiving stolen goods as a result of the individual turning himself in on a previously issued Cranston Police Department affidavit and arrest warrant.

DUI

On 6/30/23 at 1343 hrs., Officers arrested Randy Martin, 26, of 106 Lookout Ave. Cranston, RI for DUI-BAC Unknown and Possession of Schedule I/II (fentanyl) under 10g. The arrest was the result of a call for a suspicious vehicle in the area of Atwood Ave. and Randall St.

Felony Assault

 On 6/28/2023 at approximately 1945hrs. Officers arrested Douglas Degro Torres (38) of 64 Fairfield St. Apt #104 Providence, RI, for (1) count Felony Assault With Dangerous Weapon, (1) count Carrying Dangerous Weapons or Substances When Committing A Crime of Violence, (1) count Possession of A Firearm by Criminals and Fugitives, (1) count Carrying A Pistol Without A License, and (1) count Firing In A Compact Area. The arrest was a result of a pick-up at the ACI on a previously issued Arrest and Affidavit Warrant out of the Cranston Police Department.

Intent to defraud

On 6/27/253 at approximately 2203 HRS., Officers arrested Wasem Ghazi, 56, of 109 Berkley St Cranston for One (1) count of Obtaining Food with Intent to Defraud, and One (1) count of Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was a result of a call for service at the Asia Grill, 140 Hillside Rd

Obstruction

On 6/27/23 at approximately 2350 HRS., Officers arrested Agapito Gomes, 53, of 124 Messer St Providence, charging him with one (1) count of Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty. The arrest was a result of a A&A warrant arrest by RISP.

Receiving Stolen Goods

On 6/30/23 at 2016 hrs., Officers arrested Stanley Malcolm, 48, of 460 Pine St. Providence, RI for Receiving Stolen Goods, Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty, and (5) outstanding Superior Court bench warrants. The arrest was the result of a call for a larceny at 1689 Broad St.

Reckless Driving

On 07/01/23 at 0345 hrs. Officers arrested Steven Kent (21) of 25 Appleton Ave, Pawtucket, for Reckless Driving / Drag Racing / Eluding Police – 1st Offense. The arrest was the result of a vehicle taking off from an attempted traffic stop in our city, and shortly later being located by Pawtucket Police in their city.

On 7/1/23 at 1202 hrs., Officers arrested Markea Smith, 29, of 70 Warwick Ave. # 301 Cranston, RI for Domestic Vandalism, Domestic Disorderly Conduct, and (3) outstanding 3rd District Court bench warrants. The arrest was the result of a call for service in the area of 250 Atwood Ave.
